From sea level to the highest peak in Spain, crossing volcanoes, forests and seemingly impossible trails. Welcome to Tenerife, where trail running is experienced differently.
One island. A thousand landscapes. One challenge.
The 110k and 82k races traverse the Teide National Park, one of the world’s most extraordinary volcanic landscapes
The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® returns from 8 to 10 April 2027 with new routes, greater excitement and the same spirit that has made it one of Europe’s most spectacular mountain races. Few events offer such a diverse experience. Here, runners make their way through volcanic terrain, pine forests, fairytale-like trails, ancient laurel forests and coastal paths beside the ocean. From sea level to the Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, every section of the route reveals a completely different landscape from the one before.
The 2027 edition also introduces several exciting new developments. The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB® launches a new 68k race, designed for runners seeking their next major challenge. Meanwhile, the historic 73k distance evolves into an 82k course, featuring an even more spectacular and demanding route. The Vertical Night Challenge has also been reimagined, with additional kilometres and, for the first time, a start line on the beach. Alongside these new features, the event retains its flagship distances: the 110k, the 47k, including the 47k Relay format, and the 24k. All are part of the UTMB® World Series and attract runners from around the globe each year.
The race also continues its commitment to inclusivity, with adapted categories for athletes with disabilities, ensuring that more people than ever can take part in this unique mountain-running experience. Some races are remembered. Others are truly lived. Welcome to the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®. Are you ready to take on the challenge?
