The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB 2025 now starts on March
Next year's Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB will be held on from 27th to 29th March. This is one of the main changes to the iconic Tenerife race, which in 2025 will bring other new features such as a new start time for the 24k race starting at 5:30 pm from the Palo Blanco neighbourhood of Los Realejos, which means that part of the route will be completed at night. The race will open for registration on 8th October at 10 am local time, with 48 hours priority access for athletes with a valid UTMB® Index. **From Thursday October **at 10 am, any runner with or without a valid UTMB® Index will be able to purchase their race bib via the website www.tenerife.utmb.world.
The Vice-President of the island´s Government, Lope Afonso, said, “We will continue under the UTMB umbrella, which this year has given us a very important leap in quality, with a total economic impact for the island of €4.3 million, media coverage valued at more than €20.5 million and a television audience of almost 70 million viewers from around the world”.
The island's Sports Minister, Yolanda Moliné explained that the next edition of the race, which will once again finish in Puerto de la Cruz, will maintain the same routes and categories as this year and said that “the prize money will be tripled in 2025 to a total of €46,400”.
Registration fees for the different races range from €176 for the 110k to €10 for the Family Race, although there are significant discounts for those who register early and an additional 25% discount for athletes who are Canary Island residents. For example, this means that a Canarian who registers for the main race (110k) can do so for less than €100, including administration fees.
The race will celebrate its 14th edition in 2025 and offers four race categories where you can win the coveted Running Stones that give you access to the draw to participate in the legendary HOKA UTMB Montblanc, which is held in the French town of Chamonix to round off the UTMB Series circuit. The races include the Tenerife Bluetrail 110k / 6,250m+ (100M category - 4 Running Stones); the Tenerife Bluetrail 73k / 3,150m+ (100K category - 3 Running Stones); the Tenerife Bluetrail 47k / 2,600m+ (50K category - 2 Running Stones); and the Tenerife Bluetrail 24k / 1,300m+ (20k category - 1 Running Stone).
These categories are joined by a 47 km challenge for couples, the Tenerife Bluetrail 47k Relay; the 3.5 km Vertical Night Challenge; children's and family races; and two exclusive categories for people with certain types of functional diversity, Reto and Joëlettes, who can also enjoy the experience of taking part in a unique sporting event.
The most recent edition of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, held last June through seven municipalities, saw the participation of 3,200 athletes representing 66 nationalities, twice as many countries as the previous year.
