OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Dear runners,

The Tenerife Island Council has activated the sland Emergency Plan (PEIN) due to the issuance of severe weather warnings by AEMET (Spanish State Meteorological Agency) and the recommendations of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Given this situation, and in accordance with the instructions of the relevant authorities, we are deeply sorry to share that we must cancel all races and scheduled activities of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB.

This official decision requires the suspension of all outdoor activities and the closure of mountain trails across the island. It also ensures that emergency services remain fully available to respond to any incidents during this period.

In the coming days, the island is expected to be affected by a high-impact storm system bringing heavy rain, strong winds, snow, and highly unstable conditions. Unfortunately, this makes it impossible to guarantee the level of safety that all of you, and everyone involved in the event, deserve.

The safety and well-being of our runners, volunteers, teams, and partners is always our highest priority.

The organization has been working until the very last moment on the previously planned alternative routes; however, the activation of the PEIN, which prohibits outdoor activities, makes it impossible to implement any alternative course.

We understand how much preparation, commitment, and excitement goes into an event like this, and we truly share in your disappointment.

➡️ All runners have received an email with further information, including full details on how their registration will be handled. We will follow up in the coming weeks with more detailed information.

Thank you sincerely for your understanding, patience, and continued support during this difficult and unforeseen situation.

With our warmest regards,

Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB Team
