THE TENERIFE BLUETRAIL BY UTMB® REGISTERS ONE THOUSAND ENTRIES IN JUST ONE WEEK

22% of the runners have contributed funds for the recovery of the island's mountains

The Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, the mountain race organized by the Cabildo through the public company Ideco, has already reached one thousand participants in just one week since the opening of registrations. The Tenerife-based event, the highest in Spain, will take place from June 6th to 8th with ten modalities.

The island's Sports Councilor, Yolanda Moliné, explains that "the Tenerife Bluetrail's move to the UTMB® World Series circuit has been a giant step towards its internationalization, as it has sparked the interest of runners from a total of 42 nationalities, mainly French, Italian, and Portuguese."

Yolanda Moliné also highlights the participation of women, who already make up 20.1% of the total in this first week, and the 422 Canarians who have already formalized their registration with a 25% discount on the price of each modality. "Especially significant is the sensitivity that runners are showing towards the recovery of Tenerife's mountains, as approximately 22% of participants have decided to donate funds for this cause, which will be managed through the Cabildo's Tenerife Renace initiative."

The race, which will celebrate its 13th edition in 2024, offers four categories of races to earn Running Stones and qualify for the most important mountain race in the specialty: the Dacia UTMB® Mont-Blanc, held at the end of August in Chamonix (France). Specifically, these are the Tenerife Bluetrail 110K/ 6,250m+ (100M category – 4 Running Stones); the Tenerife Bluetrail 73K / 3,150m+ (100K category – 3 Running Stones); the Tenerife Bluetrail 47K / 2,600m+ (50K category – 2 Running Stones); and the Tenerife Bluetrail 24K / 1,300m+ (20K category – 1 Running Stone).

Other modalities such as the Tenerife Bluetrail 47K Relay, a 47-kilometer relay race, and the Vertical Night Challenge, a 3.5-kilometer race, are also part of the event. Children's, family, and adapted races will open their registrations soon.

Registrations to experience the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB®, one of the only two races in Spain that are part of the world's most important trail running circuit, are still open on the event's website tenerife.utmb.world.
